Through the Looking Glass
Through the Looking Glass was created in response to an open call organized by Garage Rotterdam to offer Rotterdam based artists a stage at a time when this did not seem possible.
From June 19 to July 19, Through the Looking Glass is visible through the window, and only from the street for everyone, day and night. Whether it is individually, economically, political or cultural; the artists make it clear that it is time to reflect because it is unclear what the future holds.
The window exhibition ‘Through the Looking Glass’ shows works by Silvia B., Antye Guenther, Steven Maybury, Jochem Rotteveel, Olivier Scheffer and Lavinia Xausa.
In the exhibition, the vulnerability of life unfolds through the eyes of art. The six Rotterdam artist use their work to reflect on this ominous time and transform our front space into a bizarre universe where the world is turned upside down.
My latest sculpture of the Entanglement series is on show here. Though not entirely finished due to the sudden double deadline.
