Junior
Commission to create a sculpture to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the R.S.G. The alumni of this Rotterdam Student Society will present the sculpture as a gift to the city of Rotterdam.
A young tree grows up in the middle of four impressive seniors. The adults have pushed up the pavement with their mighty roots around the youngster who has intertwined its skinny roots with the adult ones. The junior is still in the bud, like the student who needs to graduate before blossoming. The senior trees provide protection and nourishing to the junior, as do the senior students and alumni of the R.S.G. for their young members.
