Satyriscus Buonarroti
Made this jumping jack assemblage for the Paper Zoo at MU, Eindhoven in 2009.
It is assembled from parts of Michelangelo sculptures and thus named after him.
At the time I was completely immersed in those Pan-like figures, because I was making the 2 little satyr boys with billy goat legs in the Les plus Beaux part II series, called Valentino and Vino. The ones that are, together with the pieta figure M. & J., now in a semi-permanent installation with the great painting of the Dead Swan by Weenix, at the Rijksmuseum Twenthe.
