Wild Summer of Art – part II

August 5 to September 4 open Thursday-Sunday 11 am-6pm

BRUTUS will start an exhibition program, on the Atelier van Lieshout site – great asset to the city!

100 Rotterdam based artists were chosen, 80 for Part I, 100 for part II – with a little help from a number of scouts, like me:) who all proposed 20 names. Nice move, because this way it might be a better reflection of what’s going on in the city. The curatorial team, consists of Piet de Jonge (former curator Van Abbemuseum, Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen and Museum Kröller-Müller), Jessy Koeiman (curator Collective Learning, Art Institute Melly) and Liesbeth Bik (visual artist and curator).

Happy to be invited with 3 sculptures: Juni’s Longings, Kaya’s Journey and Zoë’s Break.

My sculptures are in good company in the last giant hall, called the Cathedral. Against the backdrop of the impressive old and grubby high walls, they look good: extremely young, hopeful, clean, naked and vulnerable.
